ABC Dance Class Descriptions

  • This class is an opportunity for our youngest dancers to explore the joys of dance and movement, while improving motor skills & coordination.

  • The goals in Pre-Dance for children ages 3-6 are to foster creativity and expression in movement, and a love for dance. This class is an introductory to the basic concepts of ballet and tap in a fun, nurturing environment.

  • Students will flourish in a positive atmosphere of self-discovery while learning a curriculum that introduces basic concepts of tumbling, promoting musicality, rhythm, flexibility, strength and providing a foundation for fundamental dance technique.

  • Basic to advanced ballet technique & terminology. These classes develop poise, grace, strength, balance, coordination, musicality and discipline.
    (*Pointe ages 12 and up with instructor recommendation and continued ballet class.)

  • Basic to advanced tap technique and terminology. These classes help to develop counting & motor skills, performance skills, rhythm and musicality.

  • High energy classes, exploring contemporary and classic styles, Jazz develops strength, flexibility & coordination while creating dancers who are expressive, dynamic, musical and passionate.

  • The acrobatics classes focus on building strength, balance & agility, while progressing through a series of developmentally appropriate skills and tricks. Students work at individual levels.

  • These classes will help dancers develop body coordination, self-expression and cardiovascular health, incorporating a variety of techniques from street style hip-hop, to popping & locking. This is a fun, upbeat class for the enthusiastic dancer at any level of experience.

  • These fun classes teach Broadway style & stage presence, with a focus on acting & role playing, using theatre games, improvisation, vocal exercises and cooperative groups to learn how to develop a character & incorporate it into a dance routine.

  • Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. It challenges choreographers and dancers to use movement to interpret music and express emotion.

  • This is a technique class focusing on core, upper body and leg strengthening, along with increased flexibility and improving dance foundation.

  • Appeals to the creative, artistic soul because of its expressiveness & freedom of individuality. Students are introduced to Horton, Graham & Limon techniques, as well as improvisation to explore movement possibilities. Modern dance develops strong, versatile dancers.
